MSSA Virtual Hangouts
June 26 & June 27
A global pandemic can be stressful. Social distancing and quarantine sent millions scurrying towards their computers for a safe haven in a virtual world. MSSA was no exception, and we aimed to reduce that stress. On the 26th, we huddled in front of our individual screens, playing online games like Drawful and Push the Button, and on the 27th, we were sweating buckets through a workout/yoga session!
Five Bucks Friday

Nostalgic about home? Craving local food? Well, MSSA made sure we could fulfill those wishes. We organised another event from our "Five Bucks Friday" series, where we stuffed ourselves silly with nasi lemak - all for $5 (courtesy to our sponsor, Canteen Asian Fusion Restaurant). We then adjourned for Asian desserts afterwards! Home is just a plate of nasi lemak away!
Movie Night + KBBQ

For the February Reading Week, MSSA hosted a screening of the 2013 award-winning Singaporean film "Ilo Ilo" at Robarts Library, starring Chen Tianwen, Yeo Yann Yann and Angeli Bayani. It was a real heart-tugger, and we managed to dry our tears at Koreangrill afterwards! Grab your friends and family and give this amazing movie a watch!
Jom Badminton with MSSA

Let the games begin! At our first ever badminton event, everyone had a chance to feel like the legendary Datuk Lee Chong Wei (and burn off a few calories too). We hosted a doubles tournament with prizes to win, as well as a casual drop-in session for those wanting a friendly game.
Chinese New Year Dinner

Being nine thousand miles away from home shouldn't stop us from celebrating Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai from all of us at MSSA! In this year of the rat, we had a huge reunion dinner at Congee Queen...and to say that the menu was scrumptious would be an understatement.

It's no surprise to anyone that Canadian winters are brutal. What better way to get warm than digging into a hearty, steaming hotpot? We had a delicious hotpot lunch at Chine,
and to take advantage of all the ice, we went ice skating afterwards at the Nathan Phillips Square!
